KANIGORO, Radar Blitar – The Malang State University Community Service Team (TPM) has completed a series of fieldwork activities. Papungan Village, Kanigoro District, became a destination for several weeks last September. The focus of the service carried out is the Empowerment of Village Youth in the Digital Promotion Strategy of Mudjair Village, Papungan Village. The result is a video profile of the potential of Kampung Mudjair, Papungan Village.

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan tim yang terdiri dari beberapa dosen dan mahasiswa lintas jurusan, di antaranya Nurul Ratnawati, MPd (ketua) dengan anggota Neni Wahyuningtyas, MPd; Agung Wiradimadja, MPd; dan Desinta Dwi Rapita, SPd, SH, MH. Tim berada di Desa Papungan pada September lalu. “Semoga kegiatan kami selama di Desa Papungan bisa memberikan manfaat nyata bagi desa dan masyarakat. Semoga kegiatan positif ini bisa berlanjut di lain kesempatan,” harap Ketua TPM Universitas Negeri Malang Nurul Ratnawati, MPd.

The people of Papungan Village welcomed the presence of TPM State University of Malang. The hope is of course that the potential of Papungan Village is increasingly known to the wider community. One of them is through digital promotional materials produced by TPM while in Papungan Village. The community response is also very good and it is hoped that it will provide benefits for the progress of Papungan Village.

The TPM activity in Papungan Village began with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at the Papungan Village Hall, on Thursday (9/9). Several elements of the community were invited to formulate the TPM agenda while in Papungan Village. Community representatives were present to take part in the FGD, from Mbah Moedjair’s extended family, youth organizations, tourism awareness groups (pokdarwis), micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), humanists, community leaders, to observers of the history of tilapia fish.

After the FGD, TPM immediately moved quickly by documenting the potential of Papungan Village. Starting from the typical batik of Kampung Mudjair, producers of opaque gambier, crafters of flying musical instruments, producers of marning, producers of cassava crackers, to producers of snacks. In addition, on Thursday (16/9), TPM also documented the potential of a cultural carnival in commemoration of the 64th anniversary of the death of Mbah Moedjair, the inventor of the tilapia fish who died on Saturday, September 7, 1957. The carnival was carried out in a simple manner starting from the Papungan Village Head’s Office to Mbah Moedjair’s grave in the Papungan hamlet public cemetery area.
