This organization is called the Indonesian Civil Service Corps, abbreviated as KORPRI. KORPRI is a forum to gather all employees of the Republic of Indonesia to increase the effort, dedication, and loyalty to the ideals of the struggle of the Nation and the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. This union is based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, which are democratic, independent, free, active, professional, neutral, productive, and responsible. KORPRI was founded on November 29, 1971, with an unspecified time limit.
KORPRI is also one of the work units at the State University of Malang, which includes many humanitarian activities from UM and to UM. What is the meaning of “from MU to UM”? Of course, from UM to UM residents, both those still actively working at UM and have retired. It is also possible for the wider community. One of KORPRI’s missions is to unite the Indonesian nation because KORPRI often carries out humanitarian activities.
What is the function of KORPRI in UM? There are many functions of KORPRI. For starters, the membership dues activities are deducted monthly from each member for the amount starting from Rp. 7,500 up to Rp. 20.000 depending on the group of KORPRI members. The purpose of these contributions is to support KORPRI activities at the State University of Malang. When one UM resident died, KORPRI provided compensation of approximately Rp. 700,000 for the bereaved family. UM, residents are still active, and retirees get the same compensation.
Is that the only KORPRI activity at UM? Of course not. There are many other activities. Every year on the anniversary of the State University of Malang, KORPRI also holds a Grave Pilgrimage event which is intended to commemorate the services of the heroes of UM teachers who have fallen. Because thanks to the struggles and services of the teachers’ heroes, UM can progress as it is today. After the tomb pilgrimage, it continued with gathering activities for retired UM teachers who are still alive because they are also UM heroes who are still alive and have done a lot for UM. Remember that KORPRI compensates retired UM teachers; this is where the emotional moment usually arises. Happy tears from UM retirees who feel they are still cared for by UM; even though life is no longer as successful as before, their services are still engraved in UM’s history. While not all retirees are prosperous, there are also those whose economy is not good, and those who have contributed to UM have a less fortunate fate. KORPRI cares about where humanitarian activities will be carried out from UM to UM.
So KORPRI’s activities are only for humanitarian affairs. No, there are others. KORPRI has a dark blue batik uniform. This uniform is used for ceremonies at UM as a symbol of the unity of Indonesian employees. For the Ceremony only? This uniform is also used for other activities, such as humanitarian, official, and other activities, according to the Chancellor of UM.
In commemorating its 50th anniversary, the Indonesian Civil Servant Corps (KORPRI) State University of Malang (UM) held a medical checkup for lecturers, education staff, and full-time employees. Vice Chancellor II UM, Prof. Dr. Heri Suwignyo, M.Pd., greatly appreciated this activity’s implementation. All programs that have been delivered and planned can run smoothly and well, and the results of this health test are good, all in carrying out activities directly with the Covid-19 condition, which is increasing daily and continues to show a declining graph. KORPRI activities also play an essential role in reducing the transmission of COVID-19 during the pandemic year.
How? Does the State University of Malang recognize the existence of KORPRI? The answer is Yes. KORPRI is part of UM, where its activities help UM residents.
